dc.description.abstractThe present study concerns the development of bioadhesive tablets of Captopril which were designed to prolong the gastric residence time after oral administration. Captopril is an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor; it has been widely used for the treatment of hypertension and congestive heart failure. Tablets of Captopril were prepared by direct compression method using bioadhesive polymers like Carbopol 934P, PVP K90 and CMC-Na in different ratios.en_US
