Abstract

Terrorism and Vandalism has been practiced by political organizations, nationalistic groups, religious groups, revolutionaries, and ruling governments for the purpose of gaining publicity. In Egypt there have been a number of terrorist attacks targeting civilians, tourists, and governmental Egyptian targets. Due to ignorance and economic levels, there is a high probability of deceiving more number to form terrorist groups in Egypt using ideological or religious believers and shortage in acknowledgment of protection techniques by planners and designers. So the threat is increasing, which in turn need more attention and precautions to prevent national disasters. Curriculum of architectural and urban design courses do not expose to studying the protection techniques for important buildings. This research aims to Set a protective design procedure for conventional structures to be followed by the planners and design teams to perform a successful design system. Develop a methodology that can be used in design and urban design courses to study protection techniques for important facilities.
