Abstract

The middle-income sector in the Global South faces challenges in finding appropriate housing due to high dwelling costs, loans, and maintenance. This research aims to present indicators that should be met when building middle-income compounds in three aspects: middle class housing, a resilient approach, and risk management. This research relied on a three-step approach. First, it started with scanning relevant liter- ature to identify the factors of satisfaction for the middle-income class. Building upon these factors, the second step launched a survey among 60 experts to verify the collected factors. In the third step, confir- matory factor analysis identified the critical indicators and eliminated the irrelevant ones. The main find- ing established a merged model consisting of urban governance, resilient cities, municipalities, and quality of life, which consisted of 12 categories and 38 indicators. The concluded remarks demonstrate that a strong relationship between the aspects improves the quality of life for middle-income compounds.
