Abstract

This paper proposes a novel design of a camouflage antenna for sub- 6GHz5G and WiFi applications. The antenna structure typically implies the shape of a fire sprinkler to achieve sufficient camouflage so that it is less conspicuous to the users. The antenna achieves a fractional bandwidth of 20 % covering the frequency band from 2.25 GHz to 2.75 GHz with a return loss better than 10 dB(VSWR≤2). This broadband is achieved due to the structure flare angle, which contributes to forming the shape of the fire sprinkler. The antenna has a high stable gain of 9.5 dBi and half-power-beam widths of 70° and 65° at the Eplane and H-plane, respectively. These results along with the antenna shape make the proposed antenna a good candidate as a camouflage antenna for indoor sub- 6 GHz 5 G and WiFi applications.
