Item Gifted Hands(October university for modern sciences and arts, 2019) Sherif, Marwa ShokryUsually at this stage of a reflective work, the paper is required to state what specifically occurred during the experience of the film shooting and editing. As for the experience of shooting “Gifted Hands”, there were a plenty of incidents occurring from the phase of instructions given from the course’s professor, to the shooting and editing phase. First, professor Afaf Tobbala has been highly helpful in guiding the form of the documentary film and recommending what kind of shots will cater more for the idea of the movie and what are unnecessary. For instance, she recommended that a comparative style in the sequence and shots would be beneficial. Therefore, there was a comparison conducted in the movie between the palace of his work and the old Mamluk style architecture. Moreover, it was planned to conduct an interview with more than one person yet, During the shooting of the movie it was found to be better if the interviews focused on they profiled protagonist, Mustafa Arabisk. Also, because the personalities planned to be interviewed refused to take part in the movie. The shooting of the movie took more than five day. The first day took place at the palace, where a quite sufficient amount of shots of the palace were taken. However, since the equipment at the first attempt were not high-quality ones, another day was dedicated to shooting the palace only. The 3rd of the shooting process took place at Al-Moezz street in Cairo, Egypt. However, the day was wasted due to the lack of permissions, hence the fourth and fifth days were a repetition of that day. Regarding the editing process it started to take place ever since the shooting process was complete. little issues were faced with the narration task, yet it was soon solved by contacting colleagues who knew a professional narrator that can help.
