Abstract

At first I searched on face book for a visually impaired people , then someone told me that he know a person called Islam who is blind, so I took Islam's number and called him to meet him, after that we actually met in Starbucks and he told me his story that he loves music and he plays on any instrument and showed me some of his recorded music so that I managed everything with him because he is blind and talented at the same time, we kept in touch and he were kind but when I told him that I want make a documentary and shoot with him, at first he agreed and we setup everything, but before the shooting he turned off his mobile and told me that he travelled and will not be able to shoot with me. So I didn’t lose hope and kept searching for another visually impaired people, but no one responded, they were helpless and no one wants to shoot with me, after one month of failing and losing hope in finding someone to shoot with, I reached a blind person called Hussein, we have common friends so they introduced him to me, finally Hussein was a helpful person who is graduated from political science in the British university in Egypt, he is an artist who plays saxophone, drums and piano, also he is teaching vocal in Finoon arts center in New Cairo, he loves music because it's his passion and language in expressing himself to other people, so he gave me hope and made me excited to make my documentary about him because he is so helpful, talented and optimistic person. In the first day I shoot him ordering uber scooter in front his home in Korba city until he reached Finoon arts center, then I documented him while giving vocal class for his students, in the second day I made an interview with him in his house, after that we managed to shoot in Alexandria in front of the beautiful sea, so we travelled there and I documented him while he was playing saxophone, and made a small interview there, he was talking about the music.
