مسافة السكة

Abstract

This is a critical reflection paper on my graduation project documentary and I’ll use Gibbe’s model which is about applying 6 stages (description, feeling evaluation ,analysis, conclusion and action plan). My documentary “مسافه السكه” Is about the Delivery service in Egypt. The reason why of choosing that name for my documentary is that whenever we ask any delivery man “when will you arrive?” he replies on my way or as soon as the road takes time which is in arabic means “مسافه السكه”. The focus statement was “Delivery people in Egypt Especially who deliver with bicycles and motorcycles. pass through hardships to reach their destination, such as weather problems , traffic , lack of time with a lot of orders , and as consumers we just care for our stuff to be here on time. “ The reason why I chose this topic , is because that I never found anyone before in university discussing such a topic and not only university , but also between my friends and family! No one ever thought of how hard and risky this job is 6and that it needs so much effort ; In addition to that I wanted to show everyone the obstacles faced by the delivery men in order to deliver to us our orders while we are sitting in our homes without even moving. First I went to a a pharmacy, dry clean shop , and pastries shop in order to make one interview in each place with the delivery man working there. Also I made an interview with a wife of a delivery man in order to know from here also how this job affects her personally since the delivery man usually don’t have any time to even see his kids and sometimes he doesn’t take any holidays because his work.. Then I started to take shots using the go pro while the delivery men is delivering an order and walking with the cars and shots while they are taking the orders in boxes and so on.
