Logical design of an information system to manage Preventive Maintenance

Abstract

manufacturers usually produce finished goods or raw material to produce other goods by using the power of labor and machines. Manger at manufacturers wants to ensure that machines are working most efficiently during production time. Production machines frequently used without a scheduled maintenance strategy. Such a technique also leads to unexpected downtimes because of unexpected failures. By using a Machine maintenance system, a web-based application that aims to manage machine maintenance by scheduling preventative maintenance, which allow staff to sing up and login to the system and perform their task, which often replaces components insides machines to prevent unwanted machine downtime, and this will be done by the maintenance worker. By allowing manager to set up schedule mainteance for certaint machine and then assign one of the workers to do it as task. Moreover system will send maintenance notification for maintenance worker so they don’t miss the maintenance. Also manager will be able to see the status of each assigned task weather its pending, in-progress or done. For the task that have been done by the mainteance worker manager will give worker rate bassed on his performace in doing these tasks.
