Abstract

For a single antenna to be able to operate in different applications is merit than employing a number of antennas. This will lead to reductions in size and cost Nowadays, the emergence of wearable communication systems has boosted interest in wearable antennas. The flexible antenna can be applied in different fields, military, medical, emergency response, and electronic applications. One main issue in designing is to make a single piece of antenna resonates at two frequencies and the other concern is flexible antennas display a low radiation gain since it is highly thin; moreover, the antenna operates in close proximity to the human body so it’s important to make it safe for the user by reducing its specific absorption rate (SAR) value. As such, the aim of this project is to make a study between different techniques to make an antenna resonate at two different frequencies as well as the different methods to improve its gain and reduce the SAR value. Subsequently, design, simulate, implement, and test the antenna that is suitable for the medical application by covering the ISM band and wireless communication by covering the WLAN band.
