Improving the Productivity in Cleopatra Plastic Factory
(October University for Modern Sciences and Arts, 2021) Munjed Mahmoud Siyam, Mohammad; Amr Saifeldin Kammal, Mohanad
Cleopatra plastic factory was established in 1988. Located in the industrial zone in 6thof October, it has 30 plastic injection molding machines, each produces a different product. The factory deals with external customers where they give the factory the required molds that they want the factory to inject the plastic in and produce the required demand. In the plastic injection molding process, the raw material goes through steps to create the final product. Firstly, the raw material is manually fed into the injection molding machine, gets melted and injected by the machine into the mold then cooled off and ejaculated. After investigation, it was found that The Factory’s production rate does not meet the demand fulfillment. One of the products produced is the "cooker’s Legs" for Union air Company, which is made from ABS plastic material, the factory current production is 600 presses per 12-hour shift and aiming to increase it to 900/12 hours shift. The aim of this project is: Improve the productivity of the TH-M8 plastic injection molding machine in Cleopatra plastic factory to increase the productivity using industrial engineering methodologies such as the Lean Six Sigma technique (DMAIC), SMED methodology, and Incentive Plan.

Time Waste Reduction of the COMACO Cooking Oil Filling Line in Oil Tec Factory
(MSA University, 2022) Ziedan, Naom Nabil; Mohammed, Muhammed Osama
Oil Tec is an Egyptian company based on an oleo-chemical plant in Sadat city and part of a group of companies working in the field of edible oils, soap, feed additives, and oleo-chemicals. The company was established in 1999 and focuses on the field of refining, mixing, and packaging oils and manufacturing plastic bottles to obtain the highest levels of food safety, quality, and production. After investigating COMACO filling line of edible oils in the factory, a significant number of problems were noticed. The most prominent is that the current production plan and the switching between the different products on the line causes a changeover that averages from 60 min to 120 min per the 8-hour shift and this project aimed at a reduction of 20 to 30 mins from that total wasted changeover time. This project is concerned with reducing time loss of the filling line in the Oil Tec factory using industrial engineering methodologies such as the SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies) and the 5S. These lean techniques were used simultaneously to reduce the changeover wasted time of the COMACO production filling line while also creating a more organized, optimized, and productive workspace. The successful implementation of both the SMED and 5S led to the following results: ▪ A total changeover time reduction of 17 mins from the initial 118 mins (14.4% of reduction). Therefore, the current changeover time is 101 mins per the 8-hour shift. Subsequently, the following was achieved: - ▪ The machine downtime decreased by 34.5 mins per 8hr-shift. ▪ Total Production time increased by 34.5 mins per 8hr-shift (29.2%). ▪ Total pieces produced increased by 365 pieces per 8hr-shift. ▪ Percentage of production capacity increased by 10.13%

Production Scheduling in Sandwich Panel Industry
(MSA University, 2022) Eid, Abdelrahman Mohamed; Mohamed, Ahmed Mostafa
Alex group factories are in Alexandria, supplies steel to construction material and steel manufacturing companies. It started a new project called Alex Panel, which produces a new product called sandwich panel. Sandwich panel is a new type of construction panels, it has a continuous production line. Sandwich panels are an ideal building material for modern industrial structures. They're tough but simple to operate. Thermoregulation, soundproofing, and fire protection. Two metal sheets with chemical foam in between. Both sides are shaped with dies so it can fit with each other’s to make wall panel or roof panel. Alex panel has a critical problem which is number of setups. From the given data collected and observed, it is found out that in each order the workers need to change many dies along the conveyer to be ready for the next product, each product size processed with its own die size. This project focuses on using the appropriate scheduling that minimized 63% of stoppages to changeover in four weeks implementation. The production system was facing bottlenecks among their processes. Therefore, appropriate analytic tools such as scheduling techniques were used to avoid number of stops with the help of Simulation Arena Software, as it is one of the most powerful tools available in a decision making. Development of an Air Condition Device to Transform Air Humidity to Fresh water
(MSA University, 2022) Meshref, Ahmed Mohamed; Elaraby, Hossam Elsayed
Water scarcity is one of the most serious and critical issues of today's world. Water is considered one of the most important resources in the world. Despite the fact that water covers more than two third (about 70%) of the Earth's surface, but fresh water which can be used for drinking and carrying out everyday chores still scarce (only about 2.5%). The world faces major challenges due to fresh water scarcity. In addition, the demand of clean water is increasing, and the water is getting reduced by evaporation due to global warming, and water quality is getting affected due to water sources pollution. Furthermore, seawater desalination is not within everyone's reach as it requires additional energy to extract it, and negatively affecting water quality. The technical and scientific solutions that is currently available to this serious problem is partial and costly. Therefore, the world is facing a critical problem in what is considered the source of life for all human beings. This project aims to contribute in solving the clean drinking water problem through the air condition units by condensing the humidity in air, and transform it to fresh water. The proposed system unit is divided into three parts: mechanical, electrical, and the water treatment and filtration system to guarantee the expected outcome from the collected water. The mechanical system consists of a refrigerant cycle with a compressor capacity of 1.5 horse power, while the electrical system is responsible of controlling the mechanical system through the Arduino Uno circuit and relay. Technically, the air conditioner condensate distilled water. Therefore, the collected water passes through the water treatment process and filtration system to remove sediments and contaminants, and to gain the required additives of minerals to make this type of water drinkable. After assembling the device, the tests have been conducted to measure the amount of water collected that ranged between 1.6 to 2 litters during 6 operational hours per day. Therefore, the amount of condensed water varies according to the environmental weather conditions

Productivity enhancement for plants using greenhouse technology
(MSA, 2022) Alamir Faisal, Mohamed; Ahmed Hesham, Mohamed
New methods of agriculture are more important than ever because global weather patterns are drastically altering. Since a greenhouse is among the finest possibilities for enhancing the autonomously growing technique, experts are working to find ways to enhance the performance of the entire greenhouse. A group of engineering specialties are required for greenhouse design since supported agriculture can be thought of as an integrated engineering challenge. The circumstances inside the greenhouse must be controlled in order to create the best environmental conditions; hence the structure and controller must be sturdy. The design of greenhouses is decided by the environmental factors that must be controlled, how frequently they must be managed, and how lavishly they must be handled relative to the crop's market worth at the time. Different study domains now have fresh prospects thanks to greenhouse technology. The suitable crop’s conditions can be achieved by creating improved greenhouse design and controls, despite the fact that they already exist to address internal and external greenhouse disturbances. The cost of producing crops rises with each environmental parameter that must be controlled, making efficient environmental control design crucial. The purpose of this thesis is to construct a controlled environment system that enables the precise management of those parameters in relation to the crop. Furthermore, greenhouse climate control may be monitored and controlled. using intelligent systems combined with control approaches, in which control operations are primarily designed to withstand both internal and external disruptions. Such control approaches produce superior results. The main components for maintaining ideal climate conditions are greenhouses. Crop growth performance will significantly improve if these variables are optimally controlled. In order to achieve optimal crop development, independent greenhouses have been erected in many parts of the world because non-autonomous greenhouses take a lot of work to produce high-quality crops.

    Vehicle Platooning using Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication
    (MSA, 2022) Hesham, Hazem
This report describes the vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication system. The project vision is to develop and integrate a technology that enables vehicles to drive in platoon as a collection of vehicles where a manually driven lead vehicle is followed by many automatically controlled following cars. The V2V communication system enables forwarding of messages between vehicles to share data such as vehicle speed and position. In this report, I will present a prototype of vehicle platoon using V2V communication system. The project consists of a leader vehicle and one follower vehicle. Leader vehicle is controlled by user using a smartphone or controlled web server. Both vehicles are connected through a wireless network through ESP8266 module. Wireless networks will allow communication between both vehicles and data exchange such as speed of vehicles, direction, and separation distance between vehicles. The main functions and algorithms of the proposed platooning system are achieved based on wireless communication, while the system is implemented based on a microcontroller board. It is shown that by applying V2V communication, platooning can be used in many aspects of automation in which two different vehicles can be replaced with one master and all other vehicles as followers to maintain synchronization between vehicles using a wireless network. Platoon formations will improve the travel time, congestion by increasing lane capacity and it also have environmental benefits.

Detection and Analysis of Sub-surface Objects
    (MSA, 2022) El-Ghayesh, Yahia Ahmed Abdel-Mejid
There is a deceiving sense of security that stems from taking safety for granted. The sheer number of preventable disasters that occur every year in Egypt is living proof of that. Sadly, we have grown a custom of hearing about collapsing buildings, driving on poor-quality roads, and suffering from underperforming infrastructure. And one of the main reasons why is the absence of codes, standards, and regulations that controls their construction, operation, and maintenance. To enforce necessary regulations, there is a need for a reliable tool to enable the government to collect information about new and existing structures, which will help in taking required actions to ensure the safety of the people, and the efficient use of resources. This research is concerned with one of those tools which is the non-destructive sub-surface analysis. By using radar technology, we can reliably construct images of sub-surface layers, and with that, informative decisions can be made about the current condition and maintenance needs of buildings, and whether or not a certain structure complies with safety codes. Also, it can help us locate and analyze utilities that are buried everywhere around us, which in return improves future planning, inspection & maintenance.

    Smart Road and Vehicle System
(MSA, 2022) Mohamed Ahmed Roshdy, Ahmed; Taha, Omar
In the upgrading countries accident is the major cause of death. If we talk about dangerous roads in the world then all of them are mountain roads and curve roads. The intensity of the deaths are more in curved roads. In the mountain roads there will be narrow roads with tight curves. In such kinds of situations, the driver of a vehicle cannot see vehicles coming from other side. Because of this problem thousands of people lose their lives each year. while we are talking about mountain roads here other side might be lead to a cliff. The solution for this problem is alerting driver about the vehicle coming from other side. One of the solutions is proposed in this project. The project can alert the driver by placing ultrasonic sensor in the vehicle to get the surrounding obstacles distance, and temperature sensor to get the temperature of the vehicle, the gyro sensor will be used to get the tilt and the pitch of the vehicle, smoke sensor also will be used to alarm the user in case of smoke is detected, and the RF receiver will be utilized to receive the notification messages from the traffic sign on the smart road in the vehicle zone. This project presents an inexpensive but intelligent framework that can identify and alert the driver using IoT network as well as the RF communication between the vehicle and the surrounding smart signs on the road

Trajectory Planning for Autonomous Intersection Management
(MSA, 2022) Hossam Alkady, Omar; Abdellatif Elshazly, Mohamed
Autonomous vehicles can encounter some difficult situations without the proper management of intersections, this happens due to the overwhelming number of vehicles trying to cross at the same time which leads to accidents. The objective of this project is to try to manage and control vehicles that are crossing an intersection to prevent collisions, this can happen by allowing an Autonomous Intersection Manager (AIM) to send a signal to each vehicle and will then decide based on the input data whether to allow the vehicle to pass or not [1]. There are many previously used technologies like Bluetooth which was introduced in 1998 as a method of wireless communication that is used in short-range applications, Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) which was used in intelligent transport systems (ITS) from the beginning of its development is another way to wirelessly transmit data in a medium range. Wi-Fi network which is another wireless communication method that started 1997 and was based on the IEEE 802.11 standard. This project will show how the proposed V2I system can be implemented to achieve the desired outcomes. After applying this system, the number of casualties due to car accidents should significantly decrease as a result of the continuous coordination provided by the AIM to the vehicles

The development of a good significant system nowadays requires a real-time air monitoring system, measuring Air Quality is an essential element in raising public awareness about the importance of ensuring a healthy future for future generations which have attracted tremendous research interest over the past several decades. The paper describes a system for analyzing the quality of the environment through a combination of Embedded and Artificial Intelligence methods systems. The system's use is covered in the following two phases: first one is air monitoring phase, secondly is air controlling phase with their effect and aim of them on the environment and the health of the population. As a result of industriay and heavy transportation, etc. air contaminants are concentrated in certain locations. the uses of these certain locations' enviromental data by the environmental management information system to handle multiple environmental critical conditions in those areas. as an example we can use these system in factories, airports, companies, indoors areas in general that suffer from pollution. In the first part of the system which is the monitoring part there are some sensors that sense toxic gases ″ these sensor can be changed upon areas needs ″, when the device senses that they are above the normal range it sends an awareness message. After that the controlling part takes place by filtering the air from toxics gases which leads to good air quality. We present a part of the system that is related to artificial intelligence which is machine learning that take place by predicting the air quality index(AQI) which is very important part cause it’s firstly presented in our Egypt. Finally, our aim is to reduce pollutants as much as possible to enhance a good air quality for the future generations. Also to present and execute a system which we can consider it as a system made in Egypt.

Low-Profile Dual Band Antenna for Wireless and Wearable Medical Applications
(MSA, 2022) Kamal, Ziad Ahmed Mohmed; Ali, Ahmed Abdelnaser Ahmed
For a single antenna to be able to operate in different applications is merit than employing a number of antennas. This will lead to reductions in size and cost Nowadays, the emergence of wearable communication systems has boosted interest in wearable antennas. The flexible antenna can be applied in different fields, military, medical, emergency response, and electronic applications. One main issue in designing is to make a single piece of antenna resonates at two frequencies and the other concern is flexible antennas display a low radiation gain since it is highly thin; moreover, the antenna operates in close proximity to the human body so it’s important to make it safe for the user by reducing its specific absorption rate (SAR) value. As such, the aim of this project is to make a study between different techniques to make an antenna resonate at two different frequencies as well as the different methods to improve its gain and reduce the SAR value. Subsequently, design, simulate, implement, and test the antenna that is suitable for the medical application by covering the ISM band and wireless communication by covering the WLAN band.

“IOT smart irrigation based machine learning system” A
    (MSA, 2022) Bashandy, Abdalla Taha
Smart Agricultural Systems have advanced rapidly in recent decades. Demonstrate the importance of agriculture over the world. Irrigation systems in the past relied on mills to water the land using traditional ways without knowing the proper quantities of these crops. These outdated systems are a major source of water waste, resulting in the destruction of some crops due to a lack of sufficient water. However, recent technology advancements have resulted in unique irrigation systems that do not require the farmer to intervene in the irrigation process. Smart systems have demonstrated their ability to regulate crop irrigation. It also assists to reduce irrigation water waste. Furthermore, it will try to reduce the number of staff, resulting in cost savings. In this study, we attempt to address irrigation issues such as farmer errors and excessive water consumption. These inaccuracies have an impact on trees, and their fungus may have an impact on the whole water supply. The project's expected outcomes are to make the irrigation system easier to use and understand by constructing and developing the entire automatic irrigation system, as well as to improve crop production by decreasing overwatering from saturated soil. It can prevent irrigation on the wrong day, to switch engine ON or OFF by using the irrigation system, the controller will operate to switch the engine, so no need for employers, to reduce operational errors caused by employees as much as possible, and to conserve water from waste.
