Abstract

The design of two band pass metamaterial filters with high selectivity based on the coupling matrix technique is presented. The design methods discussed below are applied to metamaterial split ring resonators (SRRs) of second order but of differing feed structure. The high selectivity requirement of the second proposed filter is fulfilled through the use of a 0 feed structure which furnishes the filter response with two transmission zeros. The proposed band pass filters are devised to adhere to wireless LAN application requirements with a center frequency of 2.4 GHz. Both the simulated and measured results of the proposed filters show an insertion loss below 0.7 dB within the pass band range. The final proposed filter boasts a compact size of only 3 ? 2 cm2 due to the use of SRRs. 2018 IEEE.
