Abstract
A new modified compact UWB monopole
antenna with WiMAX and WLAN band rejection and
Bluetooth applications support is presented. Bluetooth
(2.45GHz) support is done by adding a resonance arm to
the original antenna modified while WiMAX (3.3-3.7GHz)
notch is done by adding an inverted C-Slot into the
radiating patch and WLAN (5.15-5.8GHz) notch is done
by adding parasitic elements beside the feed line. The
modified antenna is successfully fabricated and measured.
Details of the antenna design and simulation is modified
and done. The modified antenna is a simple and compact
in size and easily fed by a 50-ohm microstrip line and
implemented on FR4 substrate with a thickness h=1.5mm
and εr= 4.5. Simulation and measurements agree that the
modified antenna has a near omni-directional radiation
pattern, appropriate gain characteristics within the UWB
frequency range and good characteristics at the specified
notches
