Item CNC routine for manufacturing spur gear(TRANS TECH PUBLICATIONS LTD, 2014) Koura, Omar MonirManufacturing of spur gears on CNC machining centers and CNC wire cutting is randomly used due to the difficulty in producing the perfect gear profile. The present paper faces this problem by developing a special cycle that can be used on both types of machines. A code for this cycles is designed to read the part program of any product and if detects the code nominated for this cycle (G77) which indicates that a gear needs to be cut, it develops the geometrical statements of the gear profile and the motion statements. It follows by writing the full code of the cycle. The validity of the designed model was verified on a CNC simulator.Item Focusing on the Extracted Data from STEP CAD Files for Prismatic Surfaces(TRANS TECH-SCITEC PUBLICATIONS LTD, 2017) Koura, Omar MonirA CAD/CAM system has become a dominant system in modern production techniques. In the attempts to facilitate the transfer of design data and geometry between the huge varieties of the International working CAD/CAM systems, the International Standard for the Exchange of Product coding system (STEP) is introduced (ISO Step AP-203). Extraction of the entities is the first step in the automated programming either for process planning, product classification or in programming for Numerical Control Machine Tools. This step is the aim of this paper in a line of several steps to build a complete CAD/CAM system for manufacturing of complicated products. A methodology is developed to extract each entity. Software has been built using Visual Studio C# - Version 2010. Interface is designed giving all the entities and showing the geometrical shape of the product. Different cases have been tested to verify the developed software and full successful results were obtained.Item Optimization of Cutting Conditions Using Regression and Genetic Algorithm in End Milling(TRANS TECH-SCITEC PUBLICATIONS LTD, 2015) El-Akkad, Ahmed Samy; Koura, Omar MonirEnd milling is a key machining operation in industrial world, particularly in manufacturing of dies and similar products. Although, such products require high degree of surface roughness, milling operation is taken to be enough for the cost wise if further finishing operations are considered. Thus, optimizing the cutting conditions to achieve the optimal surface roughness is becoming a vital issue. Several authors have tackled this problem. In this paper the same case is investigated but with an advanced algorithm using regression and genetic methodology. The results obtained which ended by deducing a general equation combining the effect of various parameters on surface roughness highlighted the factors involved in achieving the surface roughness and proved to be good tool to predict the optimal cutting conditions.
